How amazing life would be if we decided, consciously, to vary every possible activity of every day, with the exception of a few routines, perhaps, like brushing our teeth...
But almost everything that we do, no matter how habitual, leaves room for improvisation, modification, some little sign of life.
Nowhere is this more true than in music, whether in singing a song you have known since childhood, or in playing a piece you were assigned when you were 10.  
What's wrong with 10?
