The music school where I did some far-out experimental teaching from 1972 to sometime in the 1980's is undergoing an update.  Curious.  I had to stop my experimental approach because of a decidedly backward-looking trend that came into the administration in the 1980's.  Is it likely that anyone will be curious about my approach, given the current changes?  It is highly unlikely, but we shall see.
The main element in my approach was always improvisation: Loosen up in the name of getting the real point rather than get hung up on irrelevant details before one was ready to comprehend them.  
I stick to this method because I know it works.
Now improvisation is being touted by the school as the new thing.
