We are certainly in a strange historical moment:  Some people have too much money so the purveyors of what they need have to keep raising their fees:  private schools, for example, have to charge more than they need to charge in order to satisfy the status notions of their clientele.
At the same time many people have too little cash on hand to buy tickets to hear the music they actually need in their lives.  And the people playing that  music are themselves strapped for cash.
Please: Your presence is worth far more than your money.  Find a way to get invited to the concerts you want to attend.  Make a fuss.  Take advantage of last-minute reductions or freebies given out at community or senior centers.  But go.  Please go.
