The New York Times science pages had a long piece on young children and screen time.  The statistics are frightening: young children spend an average of 8 hours a day in front of screens.
Imagine 8 hours spent talking to people: of having people, not themselves hooked to screens, to talk to.
Of fooling around with an instrument: of having an instrument to fool around with.
Of actual (as opposed to on-line) searching: of having a sense of something for which to search.
