Tarnished Oldies

Going over years of blog posts, many on the subject of teaching, I find that I have a fixation with the music that was so badly taught all during my childhood--it is as if I am determined to set the record straight:  For example:
Clementi was an absolute genius, his C major Sonatina one of the wittiest compositions ever set forth for pianists with limited technical skills.
Fuer Elise is a perfect, repeat, perfect composition.
The Bach Inventions are hilarious puzzles written for his oldest son to decipher.

Little things like that.
