This from a friend whom I met on the M104 yesterday, a retired music librarian, widow of a conductor, friend to many musicians and composers.
The only difference between her and many other people is that she realizes it and can confide it to a musician friend.
I could smell it coming back in the days of LPs, when classical music recordings began to be so perfectly engineered that there was no audible vitality in them.
What would happen to live sound?  I wondered.
It has apparently happened to the perception of live sound.
Ded.
